Video quality
Viaplay offers full high-definition (HD) streaming in 1080p for our films and series. Please note that there may be exceptions where the highest quality is not available and that your internet connection and device always affect the video quality.
The best possible broadcast requires a stabile internet connection with a download speed of at least 10 Mbit/s.
Adjusting the video quality
On most devices, the video quality is always automatically based on your internet speed, your display device and which quality settings we offer on the content.
On phones, tablets, and computers, you have the option to manually select the quality you want instead of letting it be set automatically.
Adjusting on iOS and Android
If you experience buffering during playback or if you want to save data, you can manually adjust the image quality in the Viaplay app.
1. Press the 3 white lines in the top left corner.
2. Select “Settings” from the menu.
3. Under “Select image quality” you can set whether it should be HD, High, Medium or Low.
The higher quality you play the material in, the more data is consumed. Below you can see how much data is calculated for the various alternatives:
HD – 2.5GB/h
High – 1.8 GB/h
Medium – 500 MB/h
Low – 150MB/h
