Viaplay Households
Viaplay Household is your device connected to the internet connection at home (or where you usually watch Viaplay). Viaplay Household is created when using your Smart TV*. All other devices that are connected to your Viaplay account via the same internet connection as the Smart TV will automatically be included in your Viaplay Household.
Here’s how you do it:
- Log in to your Viaplay account on your TV at home
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- If you change your household (e.g. if you wish to watch Viaplay on your TV in the summer house), you will have to repeat the process and change your Viaplay Household.
A Viaplay account is intended for people who live together in the same household.
*A Smart TV, Apple TV, other TV boxes, Chromecast with Apps installed on it, and game consoles.
How many devices can be used to watch Viaplay at the same time?
You will still be able to log in on five devices and watch two streams/devices at the same time. However, the same live sports event can only be streamed on one device at a time outside your Viaplay Household.
If you want to use Viaplay on a device outside your household, you have to log in to the Viaplay Household network once every 31 days or verify your mobile device (i.e. not Smart TV*) with a temporary one-time code. Follow the instructions or read more below.
Use Viaplay outside of your Viaplay Household on mobile devices
If your device is not verified, you will be prompted to do so.
When setting up your Viaplay Household, you must also verify your mobile devices (computer, mobile, tablet) by logging into Viaplay when connected to your home Wi-Fi, i.e. the same internet connection that your household TV uses, every 31 days.
You also have the option to verify your device with a one-time code sent to the same email address that your Viaplay account was created with.
How do I use Viaplay if I don't have a TV at home?
You can still use two devices (e.g. tablet, mobile, or computer) to stream Viaplay at the same time if you don’t have a TV linked to your Viaplay account at home.
I am using a VPN which causes my “home IP” to change all the time.
It is not allowed to use VPN services with Viaplay, so please disable your VPN and try again. If you have an internet setup which means you are constantly changing your IP, please contact customer service who may be able to help you.
Change my Viaplay Household TV
If you want to change your Viaplay Household TV, you will have to be the account owner and have access to the email your Viaplay account is set up with. Log in to the TV you want to use and follow the instructions. Once you have followed the steps, you are ready to go!
When you are back home, you can change your household back.
I am not receiving an email, so I cannot confirm my Viaplay Household or see any one-time code
Start by checking if the email has ended up in your spam folder. Also check that it is the same email address you are using that you previously registered with Viaplay, which you can see under Account Overview or Account.
Also make sure that you have the latest update of the Viaplay app on the device you are trying to configure your household on. You can do this in App Store or Play Store, search for Viaplay and tap update if there is a pending update. If it still does not work, contact us.
