Viaplay abroad
Viaplay is available within Canada. You can stream all content when being in Canada territory and connected to a network located in Canada. If you are having trouble watching, make sure that you are not connected to any VPN. Read more here.
For those traveling outside Canada, you are now able to use your Viaplay account to view some local content when travelling to certain countries. This is currently available in:
Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway and Poland.
For those traveling to other countries we recommend downloading our content before traveling. You can save content offline on your mobile devices such as your mobile or tablet. Read more about that here.
If you are traveling outside Canada, we also recommend you to not connect your device to a local network when using Viaplay abroad. This is because we do not have rights outside of Canada and thus there is the possibility that you will be blocked from the service, or that the Viaplay app will be automatically updated and you will lose the licenses for your pre-downloaded content during your stay.
Should you be blocked from the service while abroad, you can test the following:
1. Shut down the app completely so that it is not active in the background
2. Turn airplane mode on
3. Open the Viaplay app again.
If you still do not have access to the service, you can try turning on 4G for a short time to sign in to the app, then switch on airplane mode again. Note that your carrier might charge extra for roaming/mobile data abroad.
