Advertisements on Viaplay

Advertisements are short commercial or promotional messages that may appear before or during content.
They help us keep certain packages more affordable while still providing access to a wide range of entertainment. 

Ads can appear: 

• Before a movie, episode, or sports broadcast 
• During breaks in live events 
• As part of the broadcast itself (for example, from external partners or TV channels) 

The amount and type of advertising depend on your chosen Viaplay package: 

• Packages with ads include promotional and commercial messages. The amount of advertising per hour varies but is significantly less than on traditional TV or free online services.  

• Upgrading to an ad-free package gives you an ad-free experience for on-demand content. 

You might still see short promotional messages or partner ads during live or third-party content. These are sometimes built into the stream and outside of Viaplay’s control. 

If you upgrade from a package with ads to an ad-free subscription, the change may take up to 24 hours to take effect. 
During this period, you may still see ads while your account updates. 

A disclaimer about advertisements is always shown on the purchase or package page before you subscribe. 

Viaplay shows different kinds of ads depending on your package. Intro ads play before content starts and can include Viaplay promos or partner messages. During live sports, split-screen ads may appear, showing the ad and the match at the same time with the ad’s sound. Commercial ads are regular breaks that can appear during movies or series.
 

Kids’ content
Viaplay does not show advertisments on Kid’s content.  

Some linear TV channels and sports broadcasts include advertising, sponsorship messages, or other commercial content. 
These are provided by our partners and are sometimes embedded in the original broadcast, which means Viaplay cannot remove or control them.
