Activate your discount code as a new customer
If you’re new to Viaplay, you can easily activate your offer using the steps below. Whether your discount code is for a rental movie or a subscription, this article will guide you through the process.
Viaplay subscription discount code
If you have a discount code for a Viaplay subscription:
- Go to viaplay.is/redeem.
- Enter your discount code in the field and click Continue.
- Enter the email address you want to use for the code.
- You’ll be asked to create a Viaplay account while activating the code.
- Follow the on-screen steps to add your payment details and confirm the amount to activate your subscription.
Offer without a discount code
You can activate your email offer directly from the message if it doesn’t include a code.
- Click the Buy Viaplay button in the email you received.
- Make sure you’re logged in with the same email address that received the offer.
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete the activation.
Offers without a code are only valid for the email address they were sent to. If you are having issues activating make sure you are logged in with the correct e-mailaddress and repeat the above steps.
Rental movie code
If you’ve received a discount code for a rental movie, you can rent a film from the Rent & Buy section for free and watch it as many times as you want within 48 hours. You don’t need a Viaplay subscription to use the Rent & Buy section.
If you don’t have a Viaplay account:
- Create an account
- And add a payment method. A valid payment method is required for all rentals, even with a discount code. This is due to studio rights and age verification requirements.
Once your account is created, follow these steps:
- Log in to Viaplay on a computer
- Go to Rent & Buy and select the movie you want to rent.
- Make sure you choose Rent for x kr.
- In the confirmation window, enter your discount code (in capital letters).
- Click Use and enjoy your movie.
If you want to watch the movie on another device, you can find it under Purchased movies in the menu.
The discount could not be applied?
If your discount doesn’t work, check the following:
- Are you eligible for the offer, e.g. maybe the code is for another country?
- What is the expiry date of the code?
If you still have issues, follow these steps
- Try completing the purchase again.
- Make sure you have a valid payment method on your account.
- Your card must allow online purchases. If your card is blocked, contact your bank or remove the restriction in your online banking.
- If you’re using a mobile device, try again on a computer.
- If you’re already on a computer, try another browser or use an incognito window.
