Upgrade your Viaplay package

Here you can find information about how to upgrade your Viaplay package, when the upgrade takes effect, and how your payment is affected.

To upgrade your package, you need to go to the page where your package information is displayed. Follow the steps below to get there:

  1. Go to Viaplay.se in a web browser.
  2. Log in to your Viaplay account.
  3. Open My account.
  4. Check which package you have under Package information.
  5. Follow the steps in the menus below, depending on whether you are a direct customer, partner customer, or have a package via Apple.
Upgrade package on Viaplay (direct customer)
  1. Follow the steps above.
  2. Go to Package information.
  3. Select Manage package and then the package you want to upgrade to.
  4. Confirm the change.

What happens after the upgrade

  • You get immediate access to the new package.
  • You are charged for the new package from the day of the upgrade.
  • Any remaining time on your previous package is refunded automatically.
Upgrade package via a partner

If the package information shows that you have Viaplay through a partner, you need to contact your partner directly to upgrade your package.

Upgrade package via Apple

If the package information shows that you have a package via iTunes, you must first cancel your current subscription and then sign up for a new package in order to upgrade your package.

Step 1: Cancel current subscription

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your Apple ID account at the top.
  3. Select Subscriptions.
  4. Select Viaplay.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.

You can continue using this package until the paid period expires. The date when your current account expires is shown in the confirmation from Apple. Once the period has ended, you can sign up for a new package.

Step 2: Sign up for a new package

When the previous package has been cancelled or expired:

  1. Open the Viaplay app.
  2. Select Get Viaplay.
  3. Select the new package.
  4. Fill in the requested details.
  5. Confirm the purchase with your Apple account.

You will get access to the new package immediately after Apple has confirmed the purchase.

Upgrade a package with a binding period

If your current package has a binding period, you cannot switch to another package yourself until the binding period has ended. You can check the binding period for your package under My account.

If you have a package with a binding period and want access to content that is not included in your package, please contact customer service.

If no active package is shown under Package information

If the page does not show any active package but instead shows packages available for purchase, check that you are logged into the correct account.
